About the Conference
In February 2025, Penny and Steve held their first conference together at Ammerdown House. So popular did it prove that they decided to do it all over again in 2026.
There will be a full programme of talks with the aim of making an eclectic set of complex topics simple. You don’t need to hold a diploma in astrology to attend, but a passion for the subject and a basic understanding will help.
Set in deepest Somerset, Ammerdown House provides the perfect background to this immersive and intimate conference. This year we are allowing a little more time between talks for people to decompress and take advantage of the surrounding grounds, and once the work of the day is over, the real work can be done in the bar! Many firm friendships were formed there in 2025.
In addition to the talks, Annalisa Mather, will hold a thirty-minute session before breakfast to awaken your chi and set you up for the day. And she will be among several facilitators on hand throughout the conference to help with any queries.

ACCOMMODATION
There is residential accommodation for 40 – 46 attendees, depending on any couples sharing a room, and 20-25 non-residential spaces.
All rooms are en-suite and there are 2 “accessible” rooms for anyone with mobility issues.
There are plenty of AirBnb’s and guesthouses in the area.
Fees for all attendees include home-cooked, vegetarian meals, snacks, teas and coffees. Breakfast is not included for non-residential attendees.

Transport
There is ample parking at Ammerdown for those who wish to drive. However, there is no public transport to the venue. A taxi from Bristol airport or Bristol Temple Meads train station will cost around £50 and a taxi from Bath Spa train station will cost around £40.
Local Churches
If you would like to attend a religious service on Easter Sunday, there are Catholic and C of E churches in the area. Details available on request.
Penny Thornton
Penny Thornton’s career has spanned forty years. Trained at the Faculty of Astrological Studies and awarded its diploma, she has taught and lectured extensively in North America, Europe, Australia and the United Kingdom. She has combined her work as a serious astrologer with a popular role, writing columns and making television appearances worldwide. In 1996, she presented a daily astrology spot on the US television Food Network. In 2000, Penny established Astrolutely.com, which has become one of the top astrology sites in the world. She started a YouTube channel in 2019.
Her first book Synastry was published in 1982, seven more have followed, and an eighth, part of The Astrology Handbook series, Forecasting, is in the pipeline.
Steve Judd
Steve Judd has studied astrology since 1977. He is self-taught and was awarded the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology in 2005. In 45 years he has records of over 35,000 horoscope readings and a large client base, many of whom return for yearly updates. In addition, he has more than 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. Steve’s idiosyncrasies endear him to his clients which, coupled with his bohemian and direct attitude, makes him a unique astrologer. He likes to think that he practices abnormal astrology.
He is the author of The Bedroom Astrologer and The Lore of Pluto: Reshaping the Void, as well as the driving force behind the docuseries, The History of Western Astrology, hitting your screens soon.
Annalisa Mather
Annalisa has a passion for connecting mind, body and spirit which has led her to explore movement, meditation and nutrition over many years. She has led groups all over the world, inviting participants to reignite a sense of wellbeing and a deeper connection to the present moment through movement.
To prepare you for the day, each morning during the conference, Annalisa will guide you through a gentle sequence of movements to awaken mind and body. The movements are a blend of Tai Chi and Chi Kung designed to promote physical and emotional health. The movements can be done sitting or standing making them accessible to differing needs.
