There are many factors about this week that make it one of the more important in 2015. You are going to have to think long-term when you take certain actions. You’re going to have to think like a chess-player. With forethought you will be setting yourself up for growth and success but opting for a short term gain could lead to losses in the future.
This advice is principally aimed at material and financial matters, but it can also apply to more personal and romantic situations. This is not the time to hedge your bets or to string someone along in the hopes that it will “all work out in the end”. If you are ready to commit, commit and if not, say so.

So today sucked but there's always tomorrow
Taking off is August’s optimistic theme, whether you board a plane to foreign destinations or your efforts to get a personal or career project off the ground finally succeed. And even if you don’t get quite as far as you might wish, Jupiter’s arrival at the top of your solar chart gives you twelve more months in which to go far in all senses of the phrase. On or near the 5th and 21st you may receive a cosmic reminder that rules are there for good reason and that without a solid basis, nothing, especially a romantic relationship, can morph into a long-term situation. Any red lights that appear around those dates must be taken seriously and measures put in to right any wrongs. The weekend of the 29th looks to be highly emotional – don’t leave home without your box of tissues.
Ten days before the end of last year Saturn entered your world for a two and a half year transit. Not for 29 years has this planet been in Sagittarius, so if you are approximately 29, 57 or 86 years-old, you are at one of the most important junctions of your life. Saturn signals we have “come of age” and are ready to meet life on our own terms.
And however old you are during the next couple of years Saturn will provide you with some very grown-up situations to handle and some great occasions to rise to. Mid-January gives you your first taste of this planet - mid-May, late August and late November are others. The second half of 2015 could see some Sagittarians taking a huge step – one that will represent a pinnacle in your life story - and for many of you this is a year when you will travel often and to more distant places.
Indeed, the combination of Saturn’s gravity and Jupiter’s expansion could make 2015 one of the most successful years of your life.
Commitment is not always easy for the celestial Centaur: your independence is central to your well-being and you do not enjoy having your options limited. But here’s where Saturn comes in. This planet will encourage you to make long-term commitments and, guess what, you’re not going to mind.
Mid-April would be a perfect moment to say: “I do” but New Year’s Eve could be another time when love and commitment go hand-in-hand. As for the lunar eclipses of 4 April and 28 September these could be instrumental in sparking a love affair that will prove life-changing. The downside to your 2015 stars is that some Sagittarians will realize they have outgrown their partners and are suffocating in the relationship.
This is not a passing trend but a situation that must be addressed. March is all about liberating yourself from those things that are no longer part of your future.
Dreams must be underpinned in reality and ambitions that are realizable require persistence. Repeating these two mantras will help you balance the year’s ups and downs, gains and losses. Jupiter’s move to the area of career and life-direction (11 August) will create a breeding ground for success, even fame, so those themes of coming-of-age and life pinnacles are likely to be experienced first and foremost in regard to your job.
Also from August onwards there will be better influences over finances. Not that this gives you a licence to be profligate: lean and mean is always the way under Saturn.
Think carefully before going into business with a partner and, if you are marrying, a pre-nuptial agreement is advised. While you are usually a popular person to work with, not everybody admires you and especially in May and June treat any challenge to your position as a serious one. .
When the mantle of power falls on your shoulders, you will wear it well. And this is both a reward and a challenge in 2015. Not all Sagittarians will find themselves in a top job but there will be occasions upon which you have the power to make or break a situation.
And that power must be used well. Many events this year help you acquire gravitas; among them some concerns over a young person: this is not the time to throw money at a situation but to demonstrate tough love. As the traveller of the zodiac what better reward could there be in 2015 but more and more travel.
And, of course, there is travel in terms of expanding your mind and your skills too. Finding an outlet for your voice and your unique take on life could be another of this year’s rewards. .
