Even though Mercury turns direct on Thursday, technically turning communication wrongs to rights, you may still feel in a bit of a fog. The Sun has only just begun its transit of the house of secrets and shadows, so you are entering a period when rest and retreat are recommended – it’s time to restore the health of mind, body and spirit – so although you don’t want to ignore any red flags, you don’t want to push yourself to extremes either. Some things can just wait until you’re ready to deal with them and when you can clearly see what’s going on. Especially mid-week, avoid overreacting to a minor crime or misdemeanour: you’ve almost certainly got only half the picture.

Embracing the astrology means, on this occasion, making a bold move intended to open up your world in the best of ways. It means seizing the moment. Adapting and advancing. If, on the other hand, you’d rather stick to the plan, be prepared to have a surprise or two thrust upon you. Mercury has been in retrograde since the start of the month so the trend for delays and diversions is well established, but throw in a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction and a Sun-Pluto square and all bets are off, so to speak. The week ahead could be thrilling or it could be unsettling.

There will be times when you have control of the board but April probably isn’t one of them. Not only is the focus on collaborations (your turn to star comes later in the year) but some of the grandest alignments of the year will preside over events of great significance. Aside from big dates already in your diary, there could be developments that get in the way of everyday life. Mercury will be in retrograde until the 25th making for missteps, missed messages and mix-ups in general. A misunderstanding with a friend or colleague is just that – a miscommunication.

You might like to think of the first half of the year as a time of preparation and a period when you must make a supreme effort to overcome challenges while in the second half, one or more of your ships comes in… In your twenties, thirties, forties and fifties, you will be looking at where you want to be ten, twenty, thirty years down the line, whereas if you’re in your sixties and beyond, you may already be living your best life, the one you spent years crafting and grafting for.
