Virgo - The Year Ahead*

GENERAL

If only Saturn were taking a summer break life would be pretty near perfect but this planet continues to make stately progress through your sign reminding you that even the best things in life come with a cost of some description and you seem to be the one shouldering all the responsibility. However, good times there will be, especially in July, and the efforts you have put in over the months, years in some cases, could well bear fruit. You recharge your batteries this summer and in the process acquire a strength and conviction that has been lacking, and while earlier in the year you may have put a project on ice or deferred a decision, events in August and September get things moving. And in rather unexpected ways.

LOVE

The normally pragmatic Virgo appears to be in a bit of a dilemma. Your nature requires you have control over life and love, for which you will sacrifice the bells and whistles, but the current positions of Uranus and Jupiter are urging you to take risks and upsetting all manner of long-held belief systems and relationships. August puts the pressure on relationships already in difficulty – watch the 5th - 15th and 22nd - 4th September - Allow the eclipses (1st and 16th August), which are portents of fateful developments, to do their work because, although you do have some say over what happens in many areas of your life, where affairs of the heart are concerned, love directs your course.

WORK AND FINANCE

Saturn in your sign tends to make you more anxious and prone to seeing the glass half empty so fears of job losses may well be greatly exaggerated. Mars enters your sign on 1st July stirring your ambitions and giving you a lot more fight; indeed, you have an edge on the competition for the entire summer. However, August requires care and you may have to consider taking a temporary salary cut in order to preserve your position. September is the money-making month of 2008 but please avoid getting into financial disputes whether with individuals or organizations because you could sustain a bruising.

HOME AND LIFESTYLE

This is an active summer. Sports and outdoor activities should be top of the agenda, and even if you've not been an exercise junkie before, you've been bitten by the health and fitness bug now. Big time. Getting the family working and playing as a team is an answer to many of life's ills and taking care of an extra child may come into your summer plans. A friend could spend a short time in hospital, evoking all your stores of care and sympathy, and your first-aid kit could get more use than usual. Avoid cramming your timetable with too many activities and commitments in August – you need space and if possible an opportunity to go on a retreat.
