December is not your average month: it starts with Uranus turning direct (1st) and a full moon (2nd) so the to-ings and fro-ings we've been witnessing and experiencing these past few months finally come to a halt. Or at least they start to come to a halt. It may take until the big guns come out over Christmas and the New Year for proverbial push to come to shove. Each weekend of the month is presided over by a major aspect – Mercury-Pluto on the 5th/6th, sun-Uranus on the 12th/13th, Venus-Uranus on the 19/20th and a whole cocktail of influences over Christmas and the New Year. So, we're all going to be feeling the heat and quitting the kitchen! And then there's Mercury turning retrograde on the 26th, just in time to gum up the pathways of travel and communication. The holidays are often a time when issues come to a head: we sit around the festive table with our nearest and dearest and make announcements, settle old scores and find new casus belli but this year's revelations and realizations come with bells and whistles. Take a look at that full moon on the 31st – it is a partial lunar eclipse (Cancer) and therefore redolent with the theme of endings and beginnings. I can't think of a more appropriate signature on which to end the first decade of the Twenty-first Century and begin the next.
